When you are in business you face many challenges.  What has been yours?

The biggest challenge for us has been finding consistently reliable people.

In business you come across and meet many people. What you should bare in mind is that when forging relationships some will be for:

  • a reason (they want something from you or you want something from them and that's it. Once either party or both parties obtain what they want, the relationship dissolves). A bit like a one-night stand!

 

  • a season (these relationships tend to last for longer periods they come back from time-to-time and then disappear once the season is over or after either party or both parties have obtained what they want...until the next time or season). A bit like an old boyfriend/girlfriend you have "history" with but haven't cut ties or moved on from!

 

  • for life (these relationships once established are there to stay and will not leave you until you depart this life.  You have a bond, communicate regularly and maintain a connection throughout your lives).  A bit like a marriage or someone you commit to for life and no matter what you stick together until the end of either of your lives and beyond! 

 

This is very important to consider when forging new relationships be it with customers, clients, partners etc.  This helps to manage your expectations so that you do not end up being disappointed by mentally placing them in the wrong category.  For example, thinking that they are wife/husband material when for example all they want is a "one-night stand" figuratively speaking of course!  With time and often after making many mistakes people learn from being hurt or let down time and time again and they become wiser in the company they keep or relationships they get into.

In summary and conclusion, the biggest challenge for us has been finding consistently reliable people.  Learn from others, do your research so that you don't get hurt or let down many times before as it can cost you tremendously.  In other words don't want a lifetime relationship and go after people who only want one-night stands consistently (figuratively speaking of course).  In business work to forge meaningful long term relationships as these will be more profitable.
